The 2021 Wyandotte Boat Club spring high school regattas are scheduled for the month of May. The Hebda Cup is set for Saturday, May 1st, and the Wy-Hi Regatta will be run on Saturday, May 15th. Both regattas will be held in Wyandotte’s BASF waterfront park. There will be COVID restrictions in place based on regulations at the time of the regattas, but the WBC is hopeful that after a year’s absence that we will have young athletes racing on the river again.
Both regattas’ entry info is now in the regatta section of the website.
The Blitzen the Dotte Fun Run/Walk has been a fall tradition since 2008. Thousands of runners and walkers have participated in this fun November event over the years to help raise money for the youth rowing programs sponsored by the Wyandotte Boat Club.
We wanted to continue the run/walk this year but due to concerns on social distancing and crowd gatherings dictated by government, we have decided to make the 2020 Blitzen the Dotte a virtual event.
What does that mean? You can still support the WBC rowing programs, get a run/walk in, and receive a Blitzen shirt without coming to downtown Wyandotte for the race.
Thank you for supporting WBC!
This is to notify WBC members that at the August 12, 2020 Board of Director’s meeting, the board unanimously voted to delay the club’s annual election scheduled for August 25th for one year and extend the term of the four board members who were up for election at this time.
This decision was based on current COVID executive orders and restrictions on group gatherings and the ability to hold a safe, confidential voting process. The board will meet on August 25th to elect club officers for the upcoming year.
As we navigate through this, the board is committed to returning back to normal operations as soon as we are allowed to by the government, and the United States Rowing Association.
