2025 Summer Junior Competitive Rowing
Since 1873, the Wyandotte Boat Club has been a cornerstone of the local rowing community, providing a welcoming space for athletes of all ages to discover the thrill of rowing. As we celebrate our 150th anniversary, we continue to honor our rich history while looking forward to shaping the future of rowing for the next generation of athletes.
Our Junior rowing program offers athletes at the high school level the opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive, competitive, and team-oriented environment. Whether you’re just beginning your rowing journey or looking to take your training to the next level, the Wyandotte Boat Club has a place for you. Our experienced coaches provide expert instruction on everything from the fundamentals of technique to the strategic elements of racing, ensuring every rower reaches their full potential.
At Wyandotte Boat Club, we believe in fostering a culture of discipline, camaraderie, and excellence. Our Junior program is designed to help athletes not only achieve their athletic goals but also develop life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Join us this year as we continue our tradition of success, celebrate our legacy, and row toward an exciting future together.
This year, the Wyandotte Boat Club is excited to make a historic return to USRowing Nationals in the form of “Rowfest” in Ypsilanti, MI—a competition that hasn’t been on our calendar in nearly two decades! This prestigious event brings together some of the best junior rowers from across the country, and we’re thrilled to provide our athletes with the opportunity to compete on a national stage.

Coxswains
Coxswains – we NEED you this Summer. Coxies are an integral part of their crew’s performance. We have a detailed coxswain program we are excited to roll out this year. You will be coached on steering, practice management, assessing your crew from inside the boat, race plan execution, and more. We will have a number of collegiate level coxswains visiting us throughout the season to give you first hand accounts of coxing at a higher level of competition.
Athletes selecting the coxswain role have a program fee of $150. Athletes selecting the coxswain role in the online registration will be coxing boats in daily practices and competitions. There may be some opportunities for coxswains to row, e.g. to complete a boat line-up, but this will be only at the coach’s request.
- If you have some coxswain experience but your main interest this summer is rowing, please select the rower role.
- If you select one role but change your decision mid-season, please speak with your coach.
- If you’re not certain which role to pick, please speak with Coach Cam or another summer coach.
